EVERY STEP COUNTS: 15/06/17 –We are now half way through June and I always consider this the start of the Summer as the school Summer holidays are not too far away and generally the weather is looking better. We are all going to be crossing our fingers this weekend as we are celebrating my daughter’s birthday with a garden party on Saturday. Summer will be celebrating her 9th birthday and I tell you one thing today, I cannot believe how fast the time has gone. One minute she is watching Pepper Pig and wanting cuddles and these days she is sat there listening to Shaun Mendes on YouTube with her sisters and now I hardly get a cuddle at all.

How times change eh?

I want to start this week’s article with a quote from Charles Darwin which reads:

“It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.”

I am a HUGE believer in this and this is why I have spent thousands of pounds, hundreds of hours on learning and worked thousands of hours with clients on this subject. When you manage change and manage your habits to help move you in a positive direction you are almost guaranteed to succeed.

I read an article from one of my mentors over the weekend where he listed 20 training ideas to implement that if you choose even just a handful, your training will improve and your body will be in better shape. Well, this week I am doing the same but taking 20 habits from my upcoming book on lifestyle management that if you implement will propel you to success. Check out the list below and list a few that you are going to start doing today:

  • Conduct a Fast at least once every 6 months
  • Stand up and walk around for a short period after every meal
  • Eat lots of colourful vegetables and try new items regularly
  • Try meal prepping if you struggle with food and snacks
  • Have a bottle of water on you at all times..the bigger the better
  • Develop the skill of sitting quietly
  • Make a list of 10 must read books and refresh every 6 months
  • Do everything possible to increase your N.E.A.T factor
  • Stop smoking. This offers not one positive benefit short term or long term
  • Only check your emails 3 times per day
  • Don’t float along in the “Sea of Sameness”
  • Never leave the site of an opportunity without doing something to seize it
  • For every habit you want to change focus on the cue, the routine and the reward
  • Do daily mobility exercises to keep the body mobile
  • Bounce on your feet for a minute every waking hour of the day
  • Like Levi’s would say – “Quality never goes out of style.” Never sacrifice quality exercise form
  • Watch a motivational speaker / performance every week
  • Spend 1 minute every thinking about everything important in your life
  • Hold a proud confident power pose every morning
  • Purge all negative thoughts before you go to sleep…your brain needs emptying

So how about that for some amazing tactics that you can implement right now today.

A lot of the people that I work with struggle with starting something as they either procrastinate and put off doing things or just don’t know where to start. The list above could possibly be that change you need. Pick one, pick 2, pick three or four, it doesn’t actually matter…what does matter though is you starting that change.

Again I am going to quote the Charles Darwin quote from earlier:

“It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.”

Pick something that you ned to change in your life right now and see if any of the tactics I listed could help with that.

The time is right, right now, stop waiting and start doing.

I have kept the list as a list without further discussion as I want you to explore further whether that be you looking into the tactics further or even you contacting me to discuss.

Have a great Thursday and please own the change and own your life.

Its all about having the right TACTICS!!
